Abstract

This paper attempts to understand the morphometric aspects of the area surrounding the Paras thermal power plant using remote sensing and GIS approaches. Finding the morphometric features is the main objective of this study in order to prioritise the development of the river sub-watershed (P-17). This study determines morphometric parameters and delineates drainage networks using onscreen digitisation on 1:50,000 topographic maps via GIS settings. This study has been carried out to understand the different conditions of water-holding and transmitting capacity of the rocks present, and also the general water conditions of the study area and the geochemical properties of the water have also been studied.

Keywords
