Reflexive Multi-Agent Orchestration for Adaptive Query Planning and Cross-Source Reasoning Across Distributed Enterprise Data Ecosystems

Abstract

 Enterprise data ecosystems increasingly span heterogeneous databases, cloud platforms, knowledge repositories, application services, and real-time information streams, creating significant challenges for unified information discovery and reasoning. Conventional query systems often depend on predefined workflows, static routing, or isolated retrieval mechanisms that struggle to adapt when information requirements, source availability, and data relationships change dynamically. This study develops a reflexive multi-agent orchestration framework for adaptive query planning and cross-source reasoning across distributed enterprise data ecosystems. The framework coordinates specialized agents responsible for query decomposition, source discovery, task allocation, retrieval, evidence integration, reasoning, validation, and response synthesis. A reflexive control layer continuously evaluates intermediate outputs, source relevance, uncertainty, conflicts, and reasoning quality, enabling agents to revise query plans, redirect retrieval, and invoke additional analytical processes when required. Cross-source reasoning integrates complementary and potentially inconsistent evidence while preserving provenance and contextual relationships across heterogeneous systems. The proposed architecture ultimately shifts enterprise retrieval from static information access toward adaptive, self-evaluating intelligence capable of improving query efficiency, reasoning reliability, explainability, and decision support within complex distributed data environments.
