Abstract

Climate change is global in scale and impact and glaringly affects all aspects of food security—availability, access, utilization, and stability—posing enormous challenges. Changes in temperature and precipitation has a negative impact on aspects of agricultural yield. Vulnerable populations, particularly in developing countries, face exacerbated inequalities in accessing food due to climate-induced disruptions in production and price spikes. Moreover, climate change can compromise the nutritional quality and safety of food, exacerbating health risks. The frequency and intensity of food crises and humanitarian emergencies are also heightened by climate-related disasters. Mitigating these impacts requires a multifaceted approach, integrating climate-smart agriculture, sustainable land management, improved water access, and social safety nets. Immediate action to tackle climate change and build resilience in vulnerable communities is imperative to achieve food security and eradicate hunger globally. By adopting inclusive and sustainable strategies, we can work towards ensuring a more food-secure future and better health outcomes for all.
